Planning to Visit Ha Giang During Tet? Please Note
Weather in Mid-February
- Temperature: 10–18°C (50–64°F); nights may drop to 5–8°C in higher areas
- Conditions: Cool, dry, occasional morning fog
- Packing advice: Warm layers, jacket, long pants, closed shoes, gloves for motorbike riding
- Advantage: Clear skies and excellent visibility for photography
Service Availability (February 13–18)
Most businesses will be closed, including:
- Tour operators and travel agencies
- Motorbike rental shops
- Many restaurants and cafés
- Convenience stores and shops
- Some gas stations (limited hours)
- Many homestays and guesthouses
- Banks are closed; ATMs may run out of cash
Limited services that may remain open:
- Some hotels in Ha Giang City
- Very basic local food vendors
- A few petrol stations on main roads
- Emergency services (hospitals, police)
Our strong recommendation: Avoid traveling to Ha Giang between February 13–18 unless you are fully self-sufficient and prepared for limited services.
